Tutorial

We will now apply some special effects to a couple of the slides. Specifically we will crop one slide to remove unwanted parts of the image and we will perform a Ken Burns effect on another image.

First, we will do the crop effect. We click on the image in the slide list we want to crop, then click on the Crop Effect tab. We then draw a rectangle around the part of the image we want to display, by pressing down the left mouse button, dragging and releasing the button when the rectangle being drawn surrounds the area we want.

Crop effect

When we have the crop area correctly defined, we click on the Apply button to apply it to the image.

Now we select the image from the slide list on which we wish to do a zoom out and pan, then click on the Ken Burns Effect tab. We position the mouse cursor, click and hold the left mouse button and draw the smaller rectangle. We then release the mouse button. Now we position the mouse cursor, click and hold the right mouse button and draw the larger rectangle, then release the mouse button.

Ken Burns effect

We can now click the Apply to apply the effect to the image.

We now have the slideshow constructed, so we can move on to saving and compiling it.
